What’s in a name?

To quote William Shakespeare:

“What’s in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other word would smell as sweet.”

Which leads me to:

My blog is called Fangirl Like You Mean It for various reasons. The main reason being that, because I read, I have become a fangirl.

Below is the definition of fangirl according to Urban Dictionary (which is, of course, the most official of all dictionaries).

fangirl, n.
1. (derogatory) a female fan, obsessed with something (or someone) to a frightening or sickening degree. Often considered ditzy, annoying and shallow.
2. (playful, good-natured) less extreme, a female fan who can laugh at their own passion for their particular interest (or even obsession).

I like to think of myself as the second definition.

The second part of this blog name was derived from the name of the song “Smile Like You Mean It” by The Killers. The Killers are the best band ever, by the way. This is not a discussion.

I hope this short post was quite enlightening!

Love your favorite fangirl,

Sarah!
