YALLFest 2014

YALLFest 2014

Last week I went to the biggest young adult book festival in the United States. It is called YALLFest and it is in Charleston, South Carolina. The best part is that the festival is only two hours away from me! I met so many of my favorite authors and they were all amazing! Read the rest of this entry

Delirium Pilot

Lauren Oliver Fans Unite

About the Book:

The following is the Barnes and Noble review of Delirium:9780061726835_custom-30b8a4666ac2dc87c90c01730435ea25fd42f0eb-s6-c30

Love. The deadliest of all deadly things: It kills you both when you have it and when you don’t.
In Lauren Oliver’s stunning second novel, love has been declared a dangerous disease, and the government forces everyone who reaches eighteen to have a procedure called the cure. Lena Haloway is very much looking forward to being cured and living a safe, predictable life. But then she meets enigmatic Alex, who lives under the government’s radar. What will happen if they do the unthinkable and fall in love?

I read Delirium last spring and I loved it! The entire series is amazing. These books do have some of the worst cliffhangers ever! I’m looking at you, Pandemonium! If you like dystopian books or a good romance then this series is definitely for you. Even my sister, who hardly reads at all, loved these books! The romance is a big focus of these books, as you would be able to guess from the premise. That said, the rest of the plot is pretty wonderful as well. READ IT!

WARNING: There is a love triangle. I repeat, there is a love triangle! Brace yourselves!

The Situation:

So, a while back Delirium was picked up to *maybe* be a TV show by Fox. They hired all the actors and filmed the first episode (pilot). While that was going on, there were also a couple other shows doing the same thing. All the TV shows showed Fox their pilots so that one/some of them could be picked up as a full-time show. They passed on Delirium. Well, they still had this first episode of Delirium. For some reason they decided to show it to us. Why? To bring attention to the Delirium book? To tantalize us with what could have been? We may never know.  Anyway, this first episode is available on Hulu here. The best part is, you do NOT need to have Hulu to watch it. You can watch it for free on any computer.

The Review:

I watched the pilot earlier today and, of course, I need to share my thoughts about it. Read the rest of this entry
